"Hope" - but not just any hope.
"Estel" stands for a Deep, unshakeable, trusting hope,
which is not based on evidence or probabilities -
but on Faith, loyalty and inner certainty.

In Tolkien's world "Estel" a central concept - it stands for faith in the good, even in the darkest hour. Aragorn himself bears this name in his childhood - as a symbol of the hope he embodies for Middle-earth.

"Estel does not mean blind hope. It is a trust that good will prevail, though the path is dark."

- inspired by Tolkien's mythology

it works

Do you have a tattoo idea in mind, but are unsure what the process looks like with us? No problem - here we explain in five clear steps how you can get your dream tattoo with us. Transparent, uncomplicated and at eye level.

1. Contact us

The first step is very simple: get in touch with us - by email, phone, in person on site or on social media. Tell us briefly what you have in mind (including sample images or ideas) and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

2. Non-binding consultation

We will take time for you in a free, no-obligation consultation. We will clarify any unanswered questions and discuss styles, feasibility, size and placement of your tattoo. This will give you a good feeling for everything else.

3. Make an appointment

If everything is right for you, we will arrange one or more binding appointments - depending on the scope of your project. You will also receive all the important information you need to prepare for your piercing appointment.

4. Motif discussion & design

Now it's time to get down to business: our tattoo artists work with me as the studio owner to develop your personalised design. Whether completely new or based on your template - the design is carefully worked out and prepared for the engraving appointment.

5. Prick appointment & aftercare

Your tattoo will be applied on the agreed day - in a relaxed, professional atmosphere. After the appointment, you will receive detailed instructions on how to care for your tattoo as well as information on follow-up checks or a possible follow-up appointment.

"Super friendly and professional TOP reception. Super ambience! You immediately feel at home! They take a lot of time and the artists work flawlessly. It was my first tattoo and I was positively surprised! A studio that I can only recommend to "every woman / every man"!"

Fritz

"Simply awesome! 🤩 The consultation was not only friendly, but also absolutely professional. I ended up with a brilliant tattoo - exactly what I had imagined! Thank you very much and see you next time!"

Başak

"Had the honour of being the first client of Estel Tattoo Studio and my expectations were more than exceeded! The task (complex black/grey cover-up of a multi-coloured tattoo) was absolutely fulfilled.
Starting with Nadine's professional advice on the composition and blueprint of the motif, through her competent selection of the tattoo artist, to the perfect end result, this was probably the most impressive tattoo experience for me (and I have a few...)."

Martin

Estel Tattoo created exactly the right tattoo for me with their expert and attentive advice. The pleasant atmosphere in the studio, as well as the endearing manner of the whole team, made me feel that I was in very good hands. Estel Tattoo definitely deserves more than five stars!

Irène

"It was my first time at Estel Tattoo Studio and I felt very comfortable right from the start. Nadine's reception and consultation were friendly, patient and professional. My ideas were listened to carefully and realised perfectly.
The studio is clean, well-maintained and pleasantly furnished - exactly what you would expect from a tattoo parlour. During the entire session and also during the aftercare, I felt well looked after and in good hands.
I am more than satisfied with the result and can recommend the Estel Tattoo Studio without reservation. I'm already looking forward to my next visit."

Roman

"A great studio! I just had the pleasure of a cover-up by Andrej at the beginning. A super talented and experienced tattoo artist. Nadine, good connection!
The atmosphere in the studio was very pleasant, informal and yet professional.
I was also given sensational advice, looked after at all times and then prepared for aftercare.
I don't need to say anything about cleanliness! Of course everything was perfect.
Thanks again and see you next time 😘"

Questions

& answer

Here you will find frequently asked questions and answers about tattooing.

1. How expensive is a tattoo?

A tattoo is like a good outfit: it only really fits if it is customised to you. And that's exactly why we don't offer off-the-peg prices.

The cost of your tattoo depends on several things - for example, how big it will be, where you want it and the style in which you want to immortalise yourself. Whether it's a mini motif on your wrist or half of your back in colour - we'll look at it together.

You can visit us in the studio, call or write to us - the consultation is of course free of charge and completely non-binding. Afterwards, we'll tell you what price you can expect (don't worry, we won't bite).

Payment is made after each session - only cash payment possible. If the tattoo is not yet finished, the tattoo will be charged.

2. How much is the deposit?

The amount of the deposit depends on the total price of your tattoo - completely fair and transparent.

To ensure that your appointment is actually reserved for you, we require a deposit in cash when you make the appointment. Only then is your appointment firmly booked.

For orientation:

- For smaller tattoos: 100 to 150 CHF
- For larger motifs or a one-day session: CHF 300

3. What happens if I have to postpone or cancel my appointment?

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know as early as possible - preferably by calling the studio directly or via WhatsApp.

If you cancel at least 4 working days in advance, your deposit will be refunded. If you have to postpone your appointment, this is not a problem: in this case, your deposit will of course be retained and automatically credited to your next appointment.
Cancellations at short notice (72 hours before the start of the course) are unfortunately no longer refundable, as we can then no longer reallocate the place.

Thank you for your understanding - this way everything is fair and relaxed, for you and for us!

4. Do I need an appointment for the meeting?

No, you don't need an appointment to talk to us about your tattoo. You can drop by our studio at any time during our opening hours without obligation and without making an appointment.

However, if you want to make sure that we really have enough time for your consultation (and are not in the middle of stitching), we recommend that you make an appointment in advance. That way, we can devote ourselves to your project in peace and quiet - without rushing or waiting.

5. What should I consider before the appointment?

A little preparation doesn't hurt: get a good night's sleep, eat something good beforehand and skip the alcohol, aspirin and litres of coffee - that way your body will be ready for your new tattoo.

6. What to do if you have skin problems or known allergies?

If you have skin problems or known allergies, we recommend that you consult your dermatologist before your tattoo appointment. This will allow them to clarify whether a tattoo is safe for you - your health always comes first.

7. Can I bring my own motif?

Absolutely! If you already have an idea or even a template, please bring it along. We'll see together whether and how the motif can be realised or developed further.

8. How long does a tattoo appointment take?

It all depends on the design. A small tattoo can sometimes be done in 30 minutes, while larger or detailed designs can take a few hours - or we can split it into several sessions. But don't worry: we'll tell you exactly what you can expect beforehand.

9. What do I have to consider after tattooing?

We will provide you with detailed care instructions - but very basic: keep clean, apply cream, avoid the sun and swimming for the time being, and please don't scratch - even if it itches!

10. What happens if I am late?

Please be punctual. If you are late, we may have to shorten or postpone your appointment - especially if the next customer is already waiting after you.

11. Can I listen to music or talk during the stitching?

Sure, as long as it relaxes you! You can always bring headphones - and if you fancy a bit of small talk: We're also not a bunch of potty-mouths 😉

12. Can I bring someone with me?

Accompanying persons are okay - but preferably not the whole clique. A quiet atmosphere helps us to concentrate on our work and offer you a relaxed experience.

13. Do you also do vouchers?

Yes, tattoos are popular gifts - we can provide you with vouchers in any amount you like, simply and easily in the studio.

14. Can I get a tattoo while I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

No - we do not tattoo during this time. For your protection and that of your baby, the appointment should be postponed until later.

15. When can I do sports again after tattooing?

Give yourself a 3-5 day break. Sweat, friction and movement can interfere with healing - your tattoo will appreciate a little rest.

16. How long do I have to wait before swimming or bathing?

Until the tattoo has completely healed, you should avoid pools, lakes and long baths - this usually takes two to three weeks.

17. Can I go on holiday straight after the tattoo?

Not ideal. Sun, seawater and unfamiliar hygiene can interfere with healing. If you can, it's better to get a prick before or after your holiday.

18. Can I have a tattoo done if an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) is planned?

It is not ideal to have a fresh tattoo done shortly before an MRI appointment.

  • In rare cases, the pigments used in the tattoo can react with the magnetic fields.
  • This can lead to skin irritation or a slight burning sensation.
  • In addition, an area that has not yet healed completely can impair the examination.
We therefore recommend scheduling the MRI appointment and the tattoo so that there is enough time between them
19. Can I donate blood after a tattoo?

In Switzerland, there is a 4-month waiting period before you are allowed to donate blood again after a new tattoo.

This regulation serves to protect everyone: it ensures that any skin infections or complications can be ruled out.
